To the New 6th Graders.

My two things to look forward to during your 6th grade career, is classes are much easier, and lunch is so much better than the one choice lunch in elementary.
Do you not like having the same people in the same class every day? Well you’re in luck, in middle school you don’t have the same people in every class. If you think someone is boring in your first period class, then don’t worry you will have someone new next period…maybe…but here is some advice. You might have different students, but the teachers are still teachers. You still need to do your work and stay on task, but don’t be quiet at lunch talk to people.

Speaking of lunch, there are much better choices at the middle school cafeteria, like baked potatoes, salads, and even more drink choices. For example, you have apple juice, cranberry juice, water, and yes you still have milk. As I was saying, here is some advice in the cafeteria. You cannot just get up and dump your tray, you have to raise your hand and the lunch monitor will dismiss you to dump your tray. Example, imagine everyone in the cafeteria getting up when they feel like it, by the way there is 6th grade 7th grade and 8th grade all in one room. Hope you enjoy your new classes, and better lunch choices. I hope you take my advice and have a good year at white oak middle school!

The Brave Girl

Malala stood on stage and spoke for her rights in Pakistan. She stood against the Taliban, we need to stand against terrorist and help. Malala stood up for herself and all women of Pakistan, here are some examples of how bravery is important to life. If we did not have bravery, we could not make it far in life.

Because if you’re scared of every little thing, like a bug or snap of a twig. That is not much bravery, however Malala was brave, she stood against the Taliban for all women of Pakistan. We need to do the same stand against the evil in this world. Make the world a better place.”They shot my body! But my soul is strong!” Malala continued to preach.

Malala is not just important for life. It is important for other things, like a scary game, or a creepy book. That is also why you need bravery, to fight terrorist, bomb threats, and the verge of war. Bravery is a very important essential to life. Malala did not stop speaking for her rights, not even when she was threatened, and shot. She continues speaking.

Malala is a brave girl, standing against the Taliban, if we did not have bravery. We could not make it far in life. We need to do the same, and stop the terrorist.

Silent Saint

We wait for saint Nick.                                                                                                                                                                              With an empty tree.                                                                                                                                                                                He flies through the sky trying not to be seen.

He sneaks on roof tops.                                                                                                                                                                           He goes through chimneys with ease.                                                                                                                                                   Nick stares at the tree then smiles.                                                                                                                                                       The jolly saint reached into his bag and pulled out a small present.

Not a single gift under the tree.                                                                                                                                                             The saint slid the present under the tree.                                                                                                                                             He shouldered his bright red bag.

He flew up the chimney like a bullet.                                                                                                                                                   The saint would rocket the the sky at the speed of light.                                                                                                                  Nick smiled and waved and whispered.

Merry Christmas, to all a good night. And with that he took off without a word.

Technology is not always good when it comes to speech.

Phones and Technology can be used for good things such as Work, Medical Emergencies, and learning. But it is also bad. It can give you cancer if your on it to much, affect your learning, but most of all. People are always on them.
Here are some similarities between communicating in person and communicating with technology. Texting and talking are alike because you can express words threw both texting and talking alike. Like Hey it has been awhile sense I have seen you, I only have a few minutes so maybe you can text me?
Here are some differences between communicating in person and communicating with technology, Talking in person and texting can be two different things. In person you can show emotion and in texting you cannot so if it is really important you do not want to text them, but if they are really far away you might just want to facetime them to call them. Another way they are different. Is cause if you are trying to tell a joke to someone and they don’t know what your actually thinking. They might take it the wrong way, like I texted my friend one day a joke and she took it the wrong way so the next day I had to explain it.
Like you will have to explain it was not in a bad way they just looked silly that day.

Reflection of Out Of My Mind-Stand Out

You can do things others can’t.

Don’t change who you are just to impress someone.

Accept who you are embrace yourself.

Don’t fight against your true self.

Be like a cat enjoy everything around you.

Or be like a dog.

Be brave and loyal to the friends who treat you for you.

Will you do it?

Or try to fake yourself?

YOUR choice.

Remember.

You can do things others can’t.                                                             AshleyEich

This Is How I Thought The Medi-Talker Had An Impact On The Plot In “Out Of My Mind”

To start with. She can’t walk she can’t talk. “I can’t walk. I can’t talk. I can’t feed myself.” without a doubt she is trying to explain how she can’t do anything on her own. She wants to tell her family how smart she is, and how much she really loves her family. “Anyway I almost fell out of my chair. I scrunched my face and tried to point to the radio.”On the other hand she is getting tired of fake grades and she can’t even tell them, but what if she had a computer made for her she could. “It would have big keys, so my thumbs could push the right buttons!” she can’t talk to her family because she is disabled. Despite that I think the Medi-Talker is going to have a big impact on the plot because she can finally talk! Sorta. Seeing she can’t really physically talk on her own. So the Medi-Talker is doing it for her.

Sharon Drapers Writing

There are many parts of ‘’Out Of My mind” I like about Sharon Drapers writing. I liked how she made me laugh in   the sentence “So I did. I strained. I reached. I tried so hard I farted!’’. ‘’Mrs. Violet Valenica Lives next door to us. Violets are purple, and Valenica oranges are well orange! And purple oranges are just weird, so is she’’ I love how she draws you in. ‘’ I`m surrounded by Thousands of words. Maybe millions!”. Sharon Draper has many things I like.
